Ahavas Achim University presents "The Wine of Torah: Learning Paired with Wines of the World." Please join us for seven evenings of regional wine tastings inspired by Jewish history and law. All programs begin with a lecture at 8:00 p.m. and conclude with wine tasting facilitated and narrated by Joshua Abrams from 9:00-9:30 p.m. Admission is $10/lecture or $50/series subscription for all seven evenings. There is no charge for attending the lecture without participating in the wine tasting. Reservations for the wine tasting portion will close the week before each event.
The Opening Event, "The Wines of France" featuring Professor Elisheva Baumgarten on "Sefer HaMa'asim: Tradition & Culture in Medieval Northern France," will take place on Tuesday, November 14 at 8:00 p.m. Professor Elisheva Baumgarten studies the social and religious history of the Jews of medieval northern Europe and teaches medieval history in the Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry at The Hebrew University. She received her PhD from The Hebrew University and has also taught in the Department of Jewish History at Bar Ilan University.
