The history of chocolate and the Jewish people is the topic of a presentation by Rabbi Deborah Prinz at Monmouth Reform Temple (MRT), Tinton Falls on Sunday May 7. Rabbi Prinz is a Senior Fellow at HUC-Jewish Institute of Religion Center for Ethics and Contemporary Moral Problems. She is Rabbi Emerita of Temple Adat Shalom, Poway, California, and past Rabbi of a synagogue in Bergen County, NJ, and Assistant Rabbi of Central Synagogue in Manhattan. She draws from her world travels on the trail of chocolate as she unwraps the role of Jews in the trade, retail and manufacture of chocolate.
