AMERICAN BIRTHRIGHT is a 66-minute documentary. Director Becky Tahel is an Israeli-born Jewish filmmaker whose family moved to the U.S. from Haifa, Israel when she was young. 

When her beloved sister announces her engagement to a non-Jewish man, Tahel begins to question the meaning and purpose of being Jewish in today’s world.

Her deeply considered introspective quest for understanding leads her on an extraordinary journey of self-discovery attending a midrasha in Jerusalem, talking with rabbis, scholars, mentors, and family. What she ultimately finds has profound significance for everyone seeking more awareness about their own identity.
